Thomas Keown was born in Kilkeel and is the co-founder of ‘One Home Many Hopes’, a loving home for orphaned and abandoned girls in Kenya. Known in Kenya as “Mudzini Kwetu”, OHMH finds, rescues, houses, loves and educates former street children and equips them to be the future agents of change in their community. Currently they house 35 parentless girls who had spent their earliest years surviving on Mtwapa’s streets and trash piles. Today they live as one family, attend school, and care for one another. Thomas is busy as an advocate and fundraiser for OHMH as they build a new home which will house up to 60 girls.

Location: Kenya

Parish Link: Barbara McBride

Ronnie and Maggie Briggs have been involved with CMS Ireland for almost 30 years – spending more than 15 years of that time serving, with their family, in Kenya. They recently returned to Kajiado diocese, where they are playing a pivotal role in implementing the new diocesan strategy. Ronnie is responsible for much of the diocese’s ongoing development work and Maggie keeps a particular focus on income generation programmes for women. They are both passionate about helping churches and individuals in Ireland build lasting partnerships with the global church. They have facilitated hundreds of cross cultural mission opportunities for volunteers in recent years and hope to continue this during their latest term of service.
